AVC-R help? (Rexstang?)
Hey if anyone has any input...
I have an AVC-R EBC installed. Now for the most part it's pretty easy to setup and reach my target boost level in each gear without spiking.
But what bugs me is that with the unit off, I build boost at 2200RPM. With it on, 2200rpm goes by, 2500rpm, then 3000rpm and wham I hit full boost and the car screams. I recall my old Profec A giving me full boost at 2500RPM. A lot of you guys with MBC's are the same in regards quick spoolup.
Obviously there is a setting I'm missing. Now I just live with this for the most part but it's starting to annoy me.
Somethings to note, I dont use the learn gear function as I can never build full boost with it on. I have no clue what ne-point is and what it does. However, I did set the ne1 to 2000RPM and it goes up in 500RPM increments.

What gear are you talking about? (assuming you have a 5sp)
In mine, I don't have any problems building full boost at <3000 RPM in 2nd through 5th, only in 1st gear I think
I think I have the f/b gain set pretty high for 1st gear like 8 or 10
Also have learn gear enabled only for 4th. You can also can use start duty cycle for 1st but I don't.

Every gear is the same. full boost @ 3k RPM including first.
I think for f/b I have 7,5,3,2,2
For start duty I have have it at like 60%
then for the gains, I have something similar to +19, +4, -4, -12, -19

.90kg/mm
But if all the settings are right, I can up the boost at anytime without spiking and reaching my set boost everytime right?
As for my settings, I did a major search of over 20 pages on nasioc my settings are no where near off and are pretty close to others. But each car is different and I do have a different turbo on my car BTW.

okay the gear learn is on and setup... Things are better and much more smoother then before. No longer is the boost coming on instantaneously at 3k RPM. It's much more linear and overall smoother. This I like.
I used this for help

I still can't speedup my spoolup that much. Oh well, I guess I'll live with it for now. Right now I'm running only .90mm/kg but when i put in some 100 octane I'll push it up to 1.00mm/kg and when the injectors, LINK, and pump are in... 1.3mm/kg!
thats about 19psi

Sorry I didn't post sooner, but I haven't been on the boards for awhile and I'm tired as hell right now. I'll check out my settings tomorrow and post back. All I know is my setting is on the money, I hit boost at 2800 rpms and it holds to 7000.

I did some poking around on the AVCR after Ed, Sean, and Jayson mentioned the RPM based boost control..
The NE point is what dictates the RPM based boost control. Se that to 2000RPM and you can go back into your duty setting and hit next and see 2000 as our starting value.
So now I'm in positive manifold pressure at 2500RPM, but not making full boost till close to 3000RPM. *sigh* I'll just play around some more. on a side note, my gear learn function is working better now after reading through that mkiv.com post.

yo mitch,
glad you found that function on your avc-r. hope that solves your problems.
btw, your pod and gauges are bling, bling. i definitely want one now.
i forgot to give your g-tech back to you at the track so let me know when you want it back or remind me next time you see me.
