i have a problem with my laptop keyboard.. it has already been replaced once and now it's going on the fritz again..

the first time.. a whole column of keys wouldnt work.. this time when i press certain buttons.. a whole bunch of other keys appears in the type.. say if i press the 0 key.. it would show 0p

if i pressed the 9 key it would show 9l.. if i pressed the 3 key on a word processor or aim.. it would paste the date and time...

i'm using an external right now.. which sucks.. but i'm getting used to it..

do you folks sell keyboards for toshiba (satellite) laptops? or if it's not the keyboard itself do you think it might be the ribbon type board thing inside? maybe you guys can do a diagnostic... TIA..

btw.. i saw you and chuckie causing trouble outside of yoru workplace.. that was me if you didnt recognize.. lol

We don't stock Toshiba Laptop keyboards, we have to order that from Toshiba as a replacement part. I am not exactly sure how much it would be.

As for the cause, I would guess since it was replaced previously. It could be that ribbon connecting the keyboard to mainboard, or its a problem with the mainboard itself. Or on the off chance it could be a virus causing it, highly unlikely though.

How long ago was the keyboard replaced, and who did the installation of the keyboard?

That's a good idea, but the Tandy Service center will not be able to call for the replacement. Toshiba will make the call about laptop replacement if it is under then factory warranty.

well.. i said to them "i think you people should replace the whole computer, because it's obvious a lemon.." they didnt buy it.. so i told them i'm disappointed in toshiba as a company and i'm about ready to sell this thing and get a sony.. unless you replace it.. and they still didnt do it... so i said i was going to tell all my friends not to buy toshiba products or laptops because of how unreliable they are... and they said they didnt have a replacement policy..

so i just gave in and had them repair it.. so after the repair it's up for sale...

with that said.. "DONT BUY TOSHIBA LAPTOPS"

and with that said..

FS: TOSHIBA A45 series LAPTOP
