you might want to call the dealership. He doesn't come on the board much.

Thanks, man. I'm going to have to anyway... bad things afoot with my car. See the Factory Turbo section and look for a flashing CEL.

looks like Ed is going on vacation next week.... Guy on the phone was already giving me crap about modifications... this does not look good.

edit: Guy on the phone mentioned "cracked piston" as a possible problem. He was leaning toward EGT problem or O2 sensor, but I know those are fine....

dude, did you reset your ecu? take off the unichip?
if you keep getting a flashing cel, ... those are the first two things you should try.
DON'T TALK to the just anyone at the dealer, .... How many times do we have to say that to everyone? Talk to Ed, and then go from there. OR you can talk to us to find out about problems like this.

I highly doubt the cracked piston. There are NO oil leaks. Anywhere. No black smoke. Just possibly a piston that does not fire. After Richards' suggestion in the other thread my guess is either ignition coil (how much are those?) or plug. Worst case is f***ed-up timing I'm going to run to Napa to get my car scanned so I can discover which cylinder is not firing. Hopefully it's a plug, then coil, then jacked timing. The reason I think it's timing is that it doesn't feel as bad as I think a misfire would feel. Not jumpy, just rough. Any hints?

As for your suggestions, Sean. Those are the first things I did. The problem persisted, and is still going on.

My other question is: Should I drive the car? I HAD to this morning to get to work. I'm being nice to it when I drive.

Thanks for all your support.

P.S. Richard, I'm PMing you as soon as I post this.
