I told you I'd send you a page where you could download some codecs. Actually, there are more than a few pages out there. Do a search for 'DivX'. I've got a player called 'DivX 2.0' which plays most anything.

I'm still trying to find the right one for GIS3. 700MB of space just wasting away on my HDD.

I just started a download of GIS3, we shall see if it's it.
Do you remember how long it is supposed to be?

The one I've got is 751,459Kb. There is another one that is labelled SVCD-X-Streem.mpg at the end. I've got a good rate on that one, too. That one is the same length, but different filename. Maybe it will work.

if its .avi try out xvid, alot of places use that type of mpeg4 encoding instead of divx mpeg4

Same prob. CAnnot download the codec through Windows Media Player... I now have two copies of GIS3 and cannot watch EITHER! AARGH!

Pat, where'd you get DivX2?

Anyone else, some good recommendations for alternative mpeg/avi players?

greg: have you ever installed windows media codec 9? if you did, its probably the source of your problems. they are known to take over certain types of codecs and is very difficult to remove.
