Are any of you running the Subaru OEM 4-pot calipers? The reason I'm asking is because I'm about to purchase some (Subaru OEM 4-pots), but I want to make sure my wheels fit over them, without any clearance issues. I have 17x8 5zigen FNO1RCs with a +48 offset. If you have these brakes on your car and have some time to meet with me during the week, I'd like to throw my wheels on your car to see if they fit. Mind you, these are NOT the gold Brembo's on the new STI's. My wheels will not fit over the gold Brembo's. The ones I'm talking about are the black calipers with SUBARU written on them in white lettering. Thanks in advance!

P.S.: Here's a pic of the brakes on another WRX:

Car Info: 2004 Subaru STI/WRX Silver of course
You shouldn't have a problem I think those brakes will clear stock WRX wheels the caliper isn't that big. Actually I don't think they are much bigger than the stock caliper..You'll be fine

I think they'll fit fine on your wheels. I remember something from a while back, where I heard that the TWR 310mm BBK will fit under 02/03 stock wheels but the OEM 4-pots won't. As I understand it, the OEM 4-pots WILL fit under the older 2.5RS wheels, but the TWR BBK won't.
IIRC, Mario gave me that info at a track day. I'm sure he'll chime in here when he gets back to clarify!

4-pots will not fit under WRX wheels. I have read the Suby 4-pots are good brakes. But I also have read that they will only give you better modulation and "feel". If you're only getting them for the street, press on. But if you want to track your car, I'd look elsewhere. Unless you can find brackets that allow you to run bigger rotors (far more important at the track). Heat is your enemy. Bigger rotors, good fluid, brake ducts are your friends. Why didn't I say better pads? Because better pads mean higher temps (if the pads are good), which tends to stress everything else. I do believe I'm the only one that has cooked (I mean cooked) Motul RBF600 on-island. I've had people on the other board that can't believe I cooked the Motul. Runing Castrol SRF now (with ducts), but it's nearly impossible to purchase. Thanks Farid!
