Anyone remove their cruise control?

I just pulled the plug on it this morning. No lights/CELs came on so I plan on removing all that stuff later this afternoon. Just wondering if any other systems would be affected by it.

I never use it and I'm thinking of mounting my catch can in the area (though it does get a little hot there).

BTW Wes, do you know anyone working at Sam Choy's BL&C? Had a few beers with the kitchen folks after work last Friday and your name came up .

Oakos has a weight chart saying that the assembly weighs 3lbs. That's for the WRX, but isn't the Cruise on an STi hardwired in? I could be mistaken, but when I was looking at Tim's I didn't see the cruise/cable assembly.

Could be wrong, though.

Yeah it's drive-by-wire on the STi.

I'm not going to take mine out, just want to know how much it weighed. I like weigh reduction.

Yeah she works in the back. She just got out of culinary school and since then she's been working and I've been eating more take-out.

BTW. According to my bathroom scale that sucker weighs just a bit over 2 lbs. This is the cruise control motor, bracket and throttle cable.
