It won't have any of the problems that Vista has. Trust me.

hate it, this may or may not apply to your computer but i had issues with my nvidia display and nforce drivers failing. infact i reinstalled vista a few nights ago because i got fed up with W7. the changes seem very promising but im going to wait until the later updates come out where a wide variety of users are able to send in their error reports to microsoft. For now, im not gonna make myself suffer. Vista may not be the best but, it was fast and stable for my system.....

Windows 7 is awesome, hate it or love it, but Apple is already trying to figure out a way to dual boot Macs to Win7, how many win7 guys you see trying to dual boot to a mac? ;] think about it.

Used it since RC1. Big leaps in terms of fine tuning but no big changes. My Vista x64 Ultimate is actually faster than Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Pulling windows off maximized and putting them maximized is annoying but you'd get used to it. The toolbar is actually different but a welcome change.

Overall, nothing much better than Vista.

And yes, OSX is still a better OS.

It's already been done back in 7600 RTM days. You change the bootlog and that is it.

I had the exact same thing happen to my Nvidia 8800 GTS on Windows 7. It overheated my card and just broke it. Purple lines everywhere. Fortunately, BFG has lifetime warranty on their card and got it RMA'ed for a 9800 GT.

Boot camp is free before and now comes with OS. Apple has announced that their update for boot camp for Win7 is coming in a month as an update. Duh.

similar issue, Nvidia GTX285, also a BFG mfd' card..... i wonder if its an driver issue with bfg cards? my screen kept blanking out for every few seconds then recovers, at a random frequency. Spent a few days trying different nvida drivers, same issue. later it started showing artifacts on the screen similar to what you described so i thought it was hardware failure. wiggled the card same thing, after it does its blank screen issue. installed vista and all issues were gone and system is stable.

Yes, exactly the same thing happened. Started blanking out in games, then "recovers" with error saying driver failed and Windows recovered it, then just starts to put all types of lines/artifacts over the place. From what I've researched, it had to do with something about the Windows 7 AGP fan control.
