Anyone here ride?
I used to have a sportbike (Yamaha FZR400) and I've been thinking of getting back into it. My friend is thinking about selling his 2001 R6, super nice condition with carbon fiber everything, but that year is still carburated, I'm tired of messing with carbs. A new 600 is over ten grand, though, I can't spend that much on what would essentially be a toy for me.
Anyone else have bikes? Whatcha riding? Got pics?

Im trying to learn, does that count? Haha. I'm hoping I can take the safety course sometime in the next couple of months. Riding does seem to be a good alternative to driving to save gas.

Aloha,
How much is your friend selling his bike? Also, any more info such as mileage, been layed down, etc...?
If you are interested in a fuel injected bike, I will sell mine around August.
Here's a brief detail on the major stuff: It's a 05 GSXR 750, navy blue and black, 13K ish mileage (miles mostly from town to Kalaeloa and back), full yosh exhaust, power commander, Diablo Corsas, and Scorpio alarm. Bike has never been layed down. Clean title with all tags current. Ballpark price is about $5k. I'll have to take pics later in the week.
Mahalo,
Chris

Brings back memories...
Ross,
those FZR 400's were fun! I had an FZ600 and my friend a FZR400 like you...that 400 with it's aluminum frame was soo light and fun to drive...
I would get back into bikes myself if it weren't for my role as soccer dad for the kids...but then again, how many soccer dads and moms have an STI as their main form of transportation
There is something about being able to break the national speed limit in first gear that really puts a big grin on your face.

is that r6 for sale?
Im actually looking to acquire an SV650, or something that doesn't rev that high and is comfortable, the ergonomics of SV650 and speedtripple are what I want. So if you have something like that for sale, let me know

A motorcylce is probably the ticket for HI unless you need a car for kids or moving stuff around...or if it rains.
Plus, parking is easy to find and of course the MPG is wonderful too.

Used to ride when I still had my bike. I had an '01 SV650S, fun *** bike to throw around, seriously. I sold it a couple years back since I wasn't riding as much after the track closed up.
If you can get your hands on one of those I'd highly suggest picking that up because it's very forgiving. Torquey down low. Comfortable riding position. Insurance rates are fantastic as opposed to a supersport. If you get one that doesn't have the lower fairings you don't have to worry so much if you drop it. It's not a bike that's commonly stolen either. You can bust wheelies on it so easy, trust me. LOL! I'm gonna pick up another bike maybe next year unless I find something appealing sooner.
