anyone have any opinions on Aquamist

It appears that it comes with it's own solenoid. I know the UTEC can control an additional solenoid.

I guess I'd have to tap into the intake manifold?

Do you think that this would preclude an IC upgrade?

Also posted in EM.

Whether the Aquamist system can be controlled by the UTEC remains to be seen. But water injection is a great way to prevent detonation and get more power when properly done.

There are downsides though to these systems. You have to tune around the water injection. if you run out of water, you WILL damage your engine. So make sure to keep an eye out on the water bottle. In one forum either this one or the **** forum, there was a guy from aquamist of similar answering everything there is about water injection.

Pat,

It seems like you've got grand schemes and that ROCKS, but all of your high dollar experimentation isn't going to benefit ME! I have no cash to follow in your footsteps.

I beg you to do more test-n-tuning with your Stage 4 UTEC combination. THAT I might be able to benefit from!

Just my selfish nature talking.

Aloha,
Richard...

P.S. After being in this for 15 years I can tell you that K.I.S.S. is the way to go.

No harm in researching. Always learnin'.

I do think that I'm gonna get the IC sprayer sometime in the pretty near future, though.

Anyone set this up yet?

Guys, I've been thinking about runing a water injection system as well for sometime now. Have any of you run this yet?

I think I can speak for most of suby drag racers and part time SoloII racers at least. None of us on Oahu have.

Those that I know don't have it are V rod, Kawshon, Mach5, 18hr, NoLimit, Rexstang, Palaban, Infek, IslandX, Mario, Teivaboy, Push2(although he has the I/C misters), and Is2Scooby. Correct me if I'm wrong fellas.

Again Larry, as long as you can tune for it... That means engine managment, and dyno time.

But there is a problem with the 2nd requirement here being in Hawaii and all....

How to tune WRX for use with Aquamist system in Hawaii:

First, tune to the ragged edge without using Aquamist, ... then get a little braver and tune in some knock!!

Then, ... with the map you just created with way too much knock for any kind of use, ... activate the Aquamist system, ... check to make sure you have no more knock.

.... Pat, ... I'm only kidding. I would never do that to someone elses car.

Just reading about this in Sport Compact Car:

Intercooler Cooler (May 2003 - Page 218)

Nitrous Express has a kit to spray cold nitrous on the intercooler to help keep it extra cold during a run. Since it's illegal to drip water on the track, using dry nitrous can help prevent the disqualification that a water sprayer might cause you at a race.

Not that I am in the know, but just what I am reading. Wasnt sure what your application was for Pat, but might check this out before spraying at Solo2.

Dave, the Aquamist system puts the waterinside the engine. It squirts it into the intake manifold, thus adding a liquid cooling charge to the air coming out of the IC. This prevents detonation/knock by cooling down the aircharge going into the engine.

An Intercooler sprayer just shoots water over top of your intercooler.

The n00b got smarted
