Exclamation Anyone got spare caliper slide pin and rubber seal??

Went to do the swap to WRX rotors and caliper brackets this afternoon/evening and discovered that one of the caliper slide pins on the passenger side bracket is frozen. I honestly don't know how the caliper was working, but the pads looks fine and I haven't noticed any weird pull during braking.

Anyway, I found this too late to get to the dealer today to get a replacement, and I'm afraid they'll be closed tomorrow with it being New Year's Eve and all that. If so, I'm basically screwed for Sunday's auto-x!

Anyone have any old brake brackets lyin' around from a big brake conversion? Hook a brothah up!!

Thanks!

Well, Schuman appears to be closed (not surprised). Anyone? Help?!

Well, I went back at it today, figuring I had nothing to lose. I actually managed to pull the thing out and the car is now back together. The rubber boot is toast, the head of the slide pin is all chewed to hell by vice grips, and I had to file a couple spots on the pin where it had bound up and gotten gouged, but it'll work for now. I had sprayed some WD-40 through the tear in the boot last night, so maybe that loosened it up enough?

I think maybe the boot had melted during the Super Lap day, and that allowed moisture in there - the slide pin bore in the caliper bracket is completely dry, so all the grease had been washed out.

Can you post a pic of the boot? I may have an idea that can fix the boot untill you can to Subaru.
