anyone got a crank pulley tool?

Got a perrin pulley that needs to be installed. I like to follow directions, use recommended tools, and correct specs for torque. Anyone got a pulley removal tool and belt tool I can borrow? Can leave deposit if it makes you feel better. Located in wahiawa.

Well if you do decide to not follow the directions all you need is a breaker bar and a friend helps

^basically he's saying he wants to do it the right way, and not break anything or **** anything up.

Since you live up on base, go to checkers in Mililani, they rent the tools. Easy to use and no need to ghetto rig anything

Nobody ever uses the "proper" tool for this. Just stick in 5th and ratchet it off. All the tool does keep the crank from turning when the wheels are in the air.

ended up going to mili orei's to rent a torque wrench and breaker bar. did the belt with patience and more patience. broke the dang breaker bar and snapped a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter. felt like it took around 160lbs+ to break it. 3 hrs later it was all good. went out to buy a 1/2" deep sockets ad broke it free with the monster torque wrench. as far as the belt is concerned...... I jacked it up a little. works n all, but got a micro-v coming in the mail and a belt tool... may not have as much patience installing the new belt as I had a couple weeks ago, lol.

You used a torque wrench as a breaker bar? tisk tisk. I hope you paid the owner to get it recalibrated.

I can't say enough for my 1/2" breaker bar. 3/8" sockets are great for anything smaller than 12mm, anything larger, IMO, need the big guns.

Catchmydrift, I told the guy what I did and he didn't say nothing when I returned it. Thanks for letting me know about recal. I didn't think it mattered. Set it to a certain ft lbs and g2g, need more ft lbs, adjust it? At least that's what I thought.

Krang, I'm ballin on a budget... I do what I can with what I got, if I break it, I'll buy it. I've never gone over 19mm before and all my ratchets have served me well thus far with 3/8 snap on sockets and adapters. I so want some big guns, but I don't use them enough to make it worth my money. I tend to buy stuff as I need it considering if I may use it again. That 1/2-3/8 adapter was one of those kits I got in the dollar bin at autozo.. I knew it was going to break, the question was when and what? Kinda set myself up for that one!
