What service provider do you have?
Whats the typical download and upload speeds that you see in Hawaii?
Mac or PC?
Monthly Charges?
Worth it or NOT?
I'm really wanting to get this service but I'd like it to be usable any time I want and in any situation.
I have an ExpressCard/34 slot on my MBP and want to be able to use it for something other than a card reader.
TIA
Jon

If you're looking for speed, don't even bother with AT&T or T-Mobile, they're still on EDGE and here in Hawaii, I've seen it as bad as dial up speed. Sprint and Verizon is the way to go here and both of them have Express Card solutions. Sprint current does run a 59.99 per month with a 2 year contract for unlimited data, their normal price was 79.99. If you do happen to be a Sprint customer, I believe the price per month with the 2 year contract will be 39.99.
Whether if its worth it or not, I've told my customers that if you do see yourself using the card at least once a day, its worth it. If not, you'll be spending $60x24mo for something not really totally worthwhile. It's kinda like buying an iPhone w/o the phone :P

I decided to go with the Sprint EX720 Wireless ExpressCard and man I'm very impressed. I was going to go with the Verizon service but found out that the cap at 5GB. This means you can ONLY download 5GB then your done.

So far since last night I've been very impressed with this service. WAAAAAAAAAY faster than edge network and getting broadband speeds. I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my RR service since I can take my internet everywhere!
If you use a Mac you WILL have to have access to a PC with a PC Card or ExpressCard slot in order to activate the card and enter all the required information. Activation is d one through PC software but the "drivers" can be downloaded from Sprints Website (or I can give it to you).
I'll be trying it out at every meet now and everyday at work.

do you know if sprint offers a referral program? A couple of co-workers here at the office are thinking about getting the service since they've seen it in action
