Don't do it!
Yes, I have been tasered to qualify to carry it for work (HPD) during it's test phase. We were the guinea pigs for the pilot program. Yes, it's as bad as it looks. I "rode the bull", which was the full 5 second cycle. Any description of 50,000 volts of electricity coursing thru your body really doesn't do it justice. I attempted to count the 5 seconds, but I couldn't, I just kept on wondering when it would end.
We recently had to give up the taser program temporarily, partly because of a possible upgrade to a smaller, more compact version of the taser (The X26). The other reason was to possibly incorporate it department wide and raise it's level on HPD'S "Use of force" chart.
In my opinion it's a very positive tool for law enforcements personnel and I would love to see it incorporated island wide.

The guy in the middle looks like the dude from supertroopers.
I don't know how much they'd be laughing though. I have never been tasered but I've been shocked pretty bad via msd coil and I didn't laugh.

My brother, a cop in CT, went through a course recently with the CT State Troopers and part of it was being Tasered. They did it just like those cops did in the video - three guys linked arms and they shocked them all together. When he was out here on vacation last month he brought the video and was showing all of the rest of the family.
We asked why they were all laughing if it hurt so much and he said it was that you've watched everyone else doing it so you know you look like an idiot, and everyone's laughing at you, so you just kinda laugh along with 'em.
