I grew up in that area (Pauoa Valley). The drive isn't that great and there isn't much room on the side of the road to park and get pictures. Lots of houses and driveways so be careful for cars. The one stretch at the bottom from gas station up is pretty safe for a little spirited driving.

Nice view up there tho, but yeah the road is tight and there's no room to pull off to the side anywere.
