After several years got back into raising africans

It's been a good 5 years since i was seriously breeding, and doing the HAS club thing.
So, does anyone breed Tanganyikans, Malawis, or Victorians?
Anybody got any F0's or F1's either as displays or for sale?
I want to get more serious again. Currently I have a lone Chalinochromis Brichardi from a trip to vegas 6-7 years ago in a 30g long w/ 15 Neolamprologus Brichardi "daffodil".
I am getting a 75g ready as a Altolamprologus Calvis "Chaitika" (white's)
breeding tank. I have 6 in a prep tank until it is ready. They are one inch saleable size, but will take me a year to get them to 2" breeding size atleast.

It has pulled me back in, but it's still cheaper than modding my car!
Post up aquaheads.....

I think for the most part, the yellow ones you see in streams and reserviors are Labidochromis Caeruleus, or "Electric Yellow". The blue ones are probably Metriaclima callainos, or "cobalt blue zebra". It's a shame, they have really taken over local streams and rivers. The other ones are hypostomus plecostomus or "pleco". You will also see Red Devils or the lesser known scientific name, amphilopus labiatus. Also Hemichromis elongatus, or "5 star general". Archocentrus Nigrofaciatus, or "convict cichlid" are also prevalent in hawaiian streams.

Nice! Peacocks are very nice when fully grown and in breeding colors!

I saw a bunch of Red Devils being caught at Lake Wilson a couple weekends ago when I took my daughter fishing there. This dude (who unfortunately liked to talk a lot) was telling me how he took one home once & it mauled his Oscars. We didn't catch anything because these two big tucanare were nearby... perhaps protecting their fry from such predators?

On a side note, my cousin has taken an active role in trying to replensih Lake Wilson with bass.... read this article if you're interested (titled, "Stocking the fish for fishing.")

Sorry for going off topic...

Yup, my male is really bright blue right now. Just wish he was as big as my male venustus.

You have a pic of you setup by chance?

Not of my current setup, but i will take a pic later.
I have some of my ol
der setups.
Let me go find them.

These are the only ones i could find. The yellow ones are Neolamprologus leleupi.
The other silver/white ones on the left are Chalinochromis Brichardi.
The silver one in the pic on the right is Neolamprologus Tetracanthus.

Unfortunately these are the only pics I have of my past fishes.

I thought Chris was getting into the "Slave Trade" business when I read the title....Tanganyikans, Malawis, or Victorians are those the tribes you stole them from?! j/k

Took the kids to...

to the Botanical garden at Hoomaluhia in Kaneohe...On Sundays they allow catch and release fishing there...fun.

We caught all sorts of fish there...Red Devils, yellow and white varieties along with some small mouth and peacock bass...they are really nice.

If you guys want, we can all meet and go fishing over there one day...fun stuff.

10am - 2pm Sunday and you can borrow a cane pole from the visitors center...bring cooked cocktail shrimp or bread for bait...

I think i got it wrong. The yellow ones are Melanochromis auratus,
and the blue and black ones are Melanochromis johanni.
I don't think any of the local hawaiian fish can survive. The aquarium fish have taken over, and most of these cichlids in our streams are some of the meanest you could own.
