Adopt a higgwy?

I was thinking in Vegas when I was the vice
president of SincityZ we adopted a highway, and I think at least 4 - 5 time a year as a club we pulled over and picked up trash. What we got? The corvette club to copy us, tons of other car guys know we existed, and a good way to give back to the place we loved. If any other I club members would be interested I can look into it.

Sounds like a great idea. A big *** I-Club banner setup on trailing vehicle, while were parked picking up trash, so everyone knows who made this highway super sparkly

Sounds like a great idea. How's about a small committee to make this happen?

Before you spend any time on it, let me look into it. Some of you might know that I am a Project Manager at the State DOT, Highways Division, so it shouldn't be hard for me to find out. FYI, a few years back I checked on it for my wife's high school graduating class and was told that all the routes were taken.

It had a listing of available roads, but had nothing on it, and was not upgraded since October 2012.

I just checked with our Adopt a Highway coordinator. She said that all the State routes are taken, the waiting list is around 50 deep and doesn't move very quickly.

On a more positive note, the City has a "Adopt a Block" program which is similar but is smaller in scale. Our Adopt a Highway coordinator is meeting with the City coordinator this week, she will let me know what she finds out. I can post the findings if anyone is interested.

Thumbs up

Hey that adopt-a-highway idea is great. Whenever I saw those orange shirts I thought .. "hey, what a great way to do some community service for a good cause"..

I never thought it would be 50-deep though, lol!

If there's a will, theres a way yo.
