Lar,

Where can you purchase the mystery oil? Does this mixture eat up the rubber lines in the engine?

Where do you get large amounts of xylene. I get ripped for 11 a gallon at home depot. I've used as many as 3 gallons of xylene in a with a full tank of 94 here to give me my desired octane. Here is the formula: ((1X117)(14.9X92))/15.9=93.57 Octane

I hope all of you can do that math. Your Subaru holds 15.9 gallons, xylene is 117 octane. So there you go everyone. I wish Hawaii and Indiana had better 100. When I went to Phoenix, AZ 100 was 3.00 at the pump. That would be great, and so much easier.

So does regular gas to a point. If you used pure un-diluted xylene there may be something to worry about, but that is why you use the MMO, and regular gas.

Guys, that's why Marvel Mystery Oil is added. You are correct in saying that Xylene will destroy rubber seals, due to it's properties. The MMO is what keeps your seals from drying out. I strongly suggest premixing the MMO w/ Xylene before adding it to your fuel. Ideally you want to ad the MMO/Xylene premixed w/ 92 octane, or ad it to your tank and then fill up to mix it. You can buy MMO from Checkers, K-MART, Wal-Mart, Napa. ETC. As for the Xylene, I get mine from Sherwin Williams. The last time I bought a couple of 5 gallon drums, it was about $42 for 5 gallons. The price had just gone up due to the oil costs. At this cost and mix, based on a $2.50/gal 92 octane fill, you pay about $3.98 per gallon of 100 octane. THIS IS DIRT CHEAP compared to Union 76 Cool Blue 100 octane!

What octane would I get if I mixed 4 Gallons of Xylene and 16 Ounces of MMO to 11ish Gallons of 92oct? I think it was a 15.9 gallon tank in our cars....

Dude, sorry to flame you but are you an idiot? I posted the formula just a few posts up. USE IT OR SHUT UP! Did you take math in school? You also shouldn't use more than 3 gallons of xylene because it burns so slow the combustion process will still be burning the fuel as it exits the chamber. You need a tune to use more than 3 gallons of xylene I would guess. On another note I went to Shewin Williams the other day and they don't sell toulene or xylene here because it is a key ingredient in meth (ice). The only place I have found it is Home Depot and Lowes for about $12.00 a gallon.

actually, nate is right, too much xylene is not good for your car. i suggest using base 100 octane first then add about a gallon or two of xylene to get the octane you desire..

I agree. You don't need more than 3 gal of Xylene on a full tank of gas. You will not get substantial gains and your car is probably not tuned for it. In addition, I strongly suggest not over using the MMO. Using too much could gum up your system. Use in moderation. Your car will run REALLY good off of 2 gallons of Xlylene w/ 6 ounces of MMO. Driving skill play a larger role in fast times. Spend the money on TIRES. "Tires Win A Race!"

BTW, damn there were TONS of new guys this past Sunday at SCCA! All the SUBY's represented well and showed the Honda and G35 guys newbies what grip is all about. Hope to see more of you guys out there next month.

If you really want cooling properties and want to run high boost, you may want to consider water injection. It is VERY effective and allows you to run high boost. Just becareful about beeing on high boost and your tank going dry.
