whats everybody doing for next friday?

I'm gonna camp out the night of the 3rd to secure a spot for the fireworks show at Magic Island. then after the show head back to my place for more fireworks.

are you sure you can camp out the night before? IIRC they kick people out of the park after 10pm you might want to check before you get there.

 

I forget, but my cousin did the same thing last year. Apparently a lot of people camp out.

Maybe they don't kick people out because of the planned event?

 

Theres a car show at Pearl Harbor on the 4th of July

 

No kidding...no camping needed. Deadline is 2PM today though...gotta have your SS#s into the base if you don't have base acess.

Best spot on the island for fireworks, that's for sure...one year, they had problems with the embers falling on cars...ahaha. That's been fixed though.

 

im thinking about going up tantalus for the view....

just bring a fishing pole they cannot by law kick you out if your "fishing".... just a heads up!!

 

I'm pretty sure if you fish in the same area/spot for X amount of hours it is legally considered camping.
Whether the police are willing to enforce it is a different story.

 

I'm situated @ Iroqouis Point. The view from the beach here is pretty spectacular. I'll be able to see the fireworks from Pearl Harbor all the way to Waikiki. Only thing is, we won't be able to burn off any fireworks of our own. I know that Ala Moana is gonna be packed. Tried that one year and haven't gone back since. I try my best to stay out of traffic now days since the gas prices are f'n unreal. Anyways, have a safe 4th everybody!

dude im possitive about the fishing law you can stay at the same fishing spot for at least 72 hours before you have to move a foot down from the spot you were at!! i know first hand.............. i have actually been homeless straight raised on the beach in nanakuli for the first 8 years of my life my pops and i are very aware of fishing/squating rights no worries bring a pole make sure you put your beer in a cup (although that IS still illegal) and kick it no probs!!! oh and make sure you actually put your line in the water!! hahaha

 

just dont fall asleep otherwise its considered illegal camping a $30 ticket!

 

lol, I think the point was that you can get in trouble for it and it is not all cherry.
And I sincerely hope that everyone here is smart enough not to take legal advice from a place like i club.
