245/35/18 on prodrive springs???

i have a '04 sti on prodrive springs. i got ssr comps. but right now i got 225/40/18 tires. its looks ugly, and im thinkin of trading these relatively brand new tires in and buyin some new ones. i was wondering whether i should go with 235/40 or 245/35. not sure if it will rub. i have re750 in case anyone wants to buy those slightly used tires, 1500k. any wise words of advice for tire size??

why would you want to go lower than a 40series? 35series is not enough meat to protect a large investment like wheels. thats just one mans opinion tho. i have 225/45/17's on ssr gt2's and i love it.

well, at 245/35, its 35% of the 245mm width so its actually close to 225/45 in terms of total rim/tire diameter and tire height is alright. but 235/40 is kinda big, but still ok. just wondering if the width of 245 on prodrive springs will rub or not. i have a feeling 235/40 will be a good fit, but i want the tire to be flush with the rim, cuz right now, the rims actually sticks out more than the tire :-(

Well,

245/40/17s on SSR C's here. No rubbing but full coilovers. Not slammed either. Close in the back to the coilover, but only because of extreme neg camber (-2.5r/-3.5f).

Not

sure if they'll clear, depending on your camber (rear more than front), and your drop. Like I said, my 17s are close in the back (looks like they've touched), so can't vouch for the 18s. I'm also running R-compounds, which run wider than street rubber.
