2006 wrx with turbo xs rfl bov

Hey guys , so i bought a used turbo xs rfl bov for my 2006 wrx from a fellow subie member. i install everything perfectly and went to drive the car. As im downshifting to neutral my car stalls? We checked out all hoses and it was alright. The idle actually jumps and lowers real low as if its about to die out. I cleaned the bov and added 4 washers.unfortunately car still idling bad. Help ! Anyone find a fix? By the way bov was working fine on his car with no idle problems but on mine it ran like s#it.

Sounds like a leak. Recheck all your connections. Any CEL? Do you have a code reader?

All connections are secure. No cel light. Do you think its the gasket That goes on the tmic? The hks i had on prior worked fine without any idle problems and my bpv didnt have any problem also.

Maybe you're flooding between shifts. Your car thinks it's getting more air than it is and provides fuel accordingly. That air it thought it had just got dumped into the atmosphere. Maybe that lag/bog is that momentary state of running rich between shifts. I'd recommend putting your stock recirc valve back on and have your car run properly.

Or perhaps reset the ECU and try again.

common issue with atmospheric valves. reset the ecu and if it doesn't learn around it scrap it and put the stock valve back on.

What you want if you like the sound of the bov it is to get a 'recirculating bov'...that will give you what you want minus the stalling

The stock BPV will work fine up until 24psi give or take, there are many race teams who still use it on their racecars and I'm sure they have a reason to do so.
