05 STi TSX Projector retrofit *PICS*
first, i need to thank gqchynaboy on i-club for helping me get started. gaveme all the info i needed. hes from the mainland, and he did one of, if not, the first retrofit on his wrx. go ahead and search for tsx projectors and you will find his thread.
second, i dont think i ever want to atempt this project again, its a REAL PITA!!!
i almost gave up....
process:
i went ahead and bought some wrx housings. i took them apart and started to measure for what kind of cutting was needed. i bought TSX projectors off ebay and Mercedes E-class shrouds from www.hidtech.com. i ended up wasting the E-class shrouds because i couldnt get it to properly fit, it had a conflict with the front lense. i ended up buying some BMW M3/ 3 series shrouds.
i then made my cuts, installed the hid ballast, and extended the rear of the hosing so i could seal it off. i also modified the WRX housing to fit the STi leveling motors, yes, they are functional!!!
Now with a big hole on the headlight, i reinstalled it on the car. using some JB Kwick, i glued the projector in place with the hid's fired up. i made my ajustments before the jb weld cured, while holding the projector in place. it felt nice holding that hot projector housing on my bare hands.
when it cured i took it all apart then reinforced ithe projector in place with more jb weld.
now i took my BMW shrouds and carefully cut little by little while test fitting between the cuts. i also test fitted the lense to check for clearance.
finally, i sealed everything up and took a drive down to walmart at 1am disregarding the fact that i had school the next morning Haha. there, i aligned the beam....

review:
i dont think the mod was worth the hassle, especially if you already have STi hids. some complain that sti reflectors are not bright enough, well with this experience i can probably say thats as bright as it gets. the projectors arent any brighter. i do however recomend this route for wrx owners as an alternative to buying oem sti housings. of course, only for those good with basic tools and have the guts to cut such expensive headlights.
what i like about this mod is it has a very clean, wide light output as opposed to STi reflectors and HID Kits. the cut off is very sharp with a hint of blue. i did what they call the washer mod that makes the blue in the cut off a little more intense. what i also like is, i probably wont see another 04/05 with this mod
enjoy the pics

Damn you jimmy!!! jus playin... those are an excellent job and thank you very much!!Now I have motivation to finish mines...Btw, let me when you have time to help me do my harness...How was the aiming?? Was it a PITA???Do you do the 25 feet theory???
ho man, aiming was the best part!!! i had to rip out the projectors from the jb weld like 3-4 times to get the aiming right HAHAHahah
i just go by a wall and assume its about 25 feet or so. i mainly make sure that its not too high where the beam would pass over another vehicle's trunk... any higher may end up as a glare in the driver's mirrors. my friend helped me aim them again tonight....
ill just a build a wire harness and u can reimburse me... ill let u know the cost first. when we meet up i can explain to you how i made it.

^^ That's exactly what I was going to post ^^. you'll have to get it lined up correctly in the housing so that it's straight or you'll be taking that **** apart to figure it out you know?
awesome job!
since these are USDM projectors the beam pattern as is _/ ̄ _/ ̄ where as if you have the JDM projectors since they are RHD then the beam patternw ill be ̄\_ ̄\_
projectors provide more light than halogeon based HID.
