just have a couple of questions about the 04 sti:

1: Does the sti come stock with tweeters and how do they mount?
the guy who had the car before me replaced the speakers with coaxils and now it looks like i have a harness for the tweet but no speaker and no place to mount it.

2:i have a clear plastic that looks like it was put on with rtv on the whole inside of the door and was also wondering if that was stock or if someone had done this themselves. also what is the purpose of this plastic?

The STi did not come with any sound systems as stock. The previous owner probably put his own.

For the tweeter location on the front doors, it is by the door handle, there is a small vented grill. The tweeter can be mounted with a small bracket on the door itself around that area, there are like 2 small holes to screw on that bracket.

For the clear plastic sheet, it is stock and cover the whole inside door, believe to prevent dust, water to wet your door cover.

This is what I can recall when I had my 04.

yea the previous owner put some eclipse coaxil speakers in, the back ones are blown right now thats the only reason i am digging into this. went to progessive auto and was looking at some boston acoustics. also with the twetter i was wondering because it looks like it is already wired for it.

lookin at the kit from ia performance. the kit comes with the ring brackets and tweeter brackets also. anyone have expirence with this product?

FYI, I bought a complete system (Pioneer Deck, Infinity Kappa Separates - Front, Infinity Kappa Coaxials - Rear, Kicker ZX700.5 5 Channel Amp) from Amazon and got a far better price than any stereo shop here on Oahu. The only thing I bought locally was my Sub & Amp Wiring Kit (it was on sale). Shipping time was at most, 3 days. I priced everything out here first then searched their site for the same identical products. Saved about $400 and did the install myself which in turn saved me another $300.
