Not compatible with VDC?

On some websites, i.e. japanparts.com, they have wheels listed and in the comments shows "Not VDC compliant."

Now, I know 08+ WRX's have VDC.

Do aftermarket rims jack up the VDC?

Does anyone have some good evidence to back this up. I can't find anything solid.

Thx!

as far as I know, as long as your rims/tires are the same on all 4 corners then it shouldn't be a problem.

What I have noticed, I have different tires on the front from the rear. Everything was fine for months, but recently I tried locking the center diff.. It seemed fine until I got back home and was going to park, it started to lurch forward and then jerk around. I switched it back to "auto" and the car jumped and made a loud noise, then went normally. Since that I haven't changed any diff settings and have not experienced that again.

I'd be surprised if any wheels actually caused problems with the VDC, assuming all your tires are the same.

it might have something to do with the offset of the wheels. The ones that said not for VDC was Enkei rims with offset in the 30~40 range. Tire rack seems not to care or notice, but japanparts does?

offset wouldn't make a difference in rotational speed, so won't hurt the diff.
maybe the rims come in a set thats set up staggered?
but that wouldn't make any sense having awd.

maybe they mean TPMS? The wheels I put on aren't compatible with the TPMS so I have a light on the dash telling me I have a flat tire.

It makes no sense. You should be fine with those wheels. As for the TPMS, I thought all wheels were compatible with the system, you just have to put the sensors in the wheels, otherwise you get the flat tire light.
