gas smell after pitch rod install
I have a 2011 and decided to replace the pitch rod.
removal and installation went smoothly. Tightened everything down and took my time putting things back together and double checked everything.
I went out for a test drive and noticed a gas (maybe exhaust?) smell in cabin when I am stopped or if I am slowing down to stop.
I loosened everything and retightened again. Same gas smell.
The smell is nonexistant if I recirculate the blower fan and If the car is moving/cruising.
I traced the smell coming from the hose, piping that connects the intercooler to the block. Retightened it again and still no luck.
I wouldn't mind taking it to the dealer for a free fix but if its just some small hose that accidentally came of in that area, I'd rather fix it myself than not have my car for a day or two.
any ideas?

umm I don't see how you would get fuel smell from removing intercooler.
All the lines are air and possibly at most have some oil blow-by.
Unless you nicked the lines on the right side the engine bay which are fuel lines.
I suggest folowing those lines and see if anything is wrong with it.
Next question would be if anyone messed with your fuel pump lately or checked anything?
