Cobb Downpipe

I just bought a 2008 WRX.. There is not much out there yet as far as aftermarket upgrades.. The only upgrade I've been able to find is a downpipe. If I install the Cobb downpipe with the high flow cat, will that cause my check engine light to come on? Does anyone know of any other upgrades I could be doing or anything better to start off with? Thanks.

I was looking into the Cat'd DP because I read about how sensitive WRX's are to DP's with no cats in regards to O2 sensing..

all you have to do is put a resistor for the sensor and no more cel

Sway Bars

I'd get sway bars before springs. Unless the ride height really bugs you. Sway bars, springs, 225 tires...the car will feel like it's on rails. Do the 08's come with 17" rims & 225 width tires? My 02 didn't.

It comes on 17" but I'm not sure of the width.. I know they are narrower then last years models.

Perrin has an extensive set up parts for that car already. You may want to check with them as well.

On the 02 problem, another fix is to get a spacer and space out the rear 02 which seems to work quite well. I believe the spacer is called a spark plug no fouler or something. It threads perfectly in and pulls the rear o2 slightly out of the stream

Also, on the handling side, the 08 is a completely new beast. I have heard there is significant role, but you may want to talk to jeff at perrin as he was driving their modified 08 around the track a couple weekends ago.

I've driven one, the body roll is intentional. Ever drive an EVO? They have CRAZY body roll. The roll is actually a feature; it keeps the contact patch with the ground consistent without pulling the inside wheel into negative camber. Adding more stiffness does not always add more traction.

I also want to go with perrin too but I would really wait until they come out with a catted CARB-ed full DP. but I am really interested in the U.P. anyone tried it out yet? does it really help the spool up?
