My Clutch decided to take a crap on me this morning and needs to be replaced ASAP. It is still drive able, however starts to slip under heavier acceleration or a load on the engine.

As for mods, I'm going to stay Stage 1 as I have decided to no longer go stage 2. This is my daily driver and don't plan on any track use. What would be the best clutch that I am not going to spend a fortune on? I am on a budget beings the upcoming holidays and my daughters Birthday is next week.

Thanks for any advice.

Mike

Rally Sport Direct states the 2006+ WRX clutches are compatible with my 2008. Can anyone confirm this? I also forgot that I have a certified pre owned warranty so I'm going to see if the clutch is covered.

It's only covered till 36k miles as long as there are no obvious signs of abuse.

That's what they just told me.

I expressed that I am very un happy being so far I had replaced an engine do to the notorious ringland failure issue, replaced the Turbo and BOV (turbo was covered, bpv was not) and now the clutch. I do not high rpm launch nor do I thrash my cars. They said they will test drive it and if it sounds like the pilot bearing is bad, theyll replace the clutch under warranty as the pilot bearing caused the damage and thats covered under the power terrain warranty.

I have owned BMW's that were sticks all my life and this is my first subaru. So far I have had nothing but headaches from my 2008. Maybe it's time to trade it in for an STI?

Honestly if you are only staying stage 1 get an Exedy OEM replacement clutch and resurface the fly wheel. Don't need anything more.

After tons of research today, I think that's what I am going to replace it with.

Ok, now I'm lost.... Today I took the subie to work since the mustang somehow got a flat overnight.

On my way to work, the clutch was super aggressive and had no signs of any slipping or wear. It was easy to shift and was amazed that it went into reverse like a hot knife through butter.

Could it possible that I have air in the line or maybe something else going on?

I'm totally lost now!
