Trading in my 05 STi for an 06 XT

yeah everyone thinks I'm nuts, but I'm pretty close to doing it...

Don't get me wrong I love the STi in every way. But I love the idea of an XT with similar power even more... am I crazy?

Granted, the handling would never be the same, but it seems that the power is there...

What I would lose:
Brakes, STi intercooler, larger turbo, tighter suspension, lower center of gravity

what I would gain:
sleeeeper, wobbly handling at first, and a whole lot of what the hell were you thinking...

Even better, put the larger turbo, STi intercooler, Brembos, and tighter suspension on your FXT, and then what have you lost? NOTHING - except the cop attractant factor!

Oh yeah, check out www.subaruforester.org too...

I dont know about the 06 model but you need to upgrade the shocks since the oem ones would blow out after a couple 1000 miles. why the 06 model? buy used and youll have more money for mods and also the 04-05 models look better

Not with the Forester-specific STi springs, which is what BlackTzak was talking about. They're designed to work with the stock struts.
