I want a Forester XT
Hopefully my 6mo's pregnant wife should be able to trade-in here Ford Explorer for one.
I'm currently deployed with my battalion, so the day prior to leaving, she and I went to the dealer in Hawaii that had just gotten them in to do a test drive. '04 silver XT, auto, 26 miles on odometer. That car is certainly quick, but she wanted a MT, so we're waiting. Should be #1 on the waiting list, but we didn't put down a deposit because I didn't figure the demand would be anything near that of the STI (although, I seriously have a suspicion that the power of the XT might be muted, and could be quite a bit more
)
Here's some stuff I've found...

I have a WRX wagon, but even though I love love love my car, I really miss a sunroof and the Forester has the BEST sunroof of any car. My wife is due for something to replace her 99 Legacy wagon - do you think she would notice anything odd if I brought her home a Forester 2.5 XT! :-) Like, gee honey, this new car is kind of fast!
If I did, it would have to be an auto and I'm not sure that would be right, but believe me, teaching your wife to drive a manual is not recommended for fostering marital harmony.

Well, it's been almost 2 months and I guess the dealer in Hawaii just refuses to order a silver MT Forester XT.
Probably just as well. The modification mania that I had for my WRX has almost come to a rest. If I were to buy the XT, I'd probably start anew with trying to get divorced....er, I mean buying a lot of expensive GFB's for the Forester; trying to get it into the 12's, too.
