What's this "FWD"...resistor...thing?
At the back of the engine bay, just behind the passenger strut tower, there's a little box with a label that says "FWD". What the heck is it (for)?
Ah...thank you. Selt, what happened exactly? I would assume that a RWD car would have no problem spinning at least a little. Or did it ignore the pulled relay and start transferring power up front?

Acutally it a place to install a fuse and it will disable the AWD and you will only have front wheel drive then. It's for when you get a flat. You are suposed to put a 15A (I think) fuse in. That way the difference in size of the spare won't mess up your differentials. For towing you need all the wheels off the ground or you will toast the diffs.
All this is in the owners manual.
Oh only automatics have this fuse not manual trannys.

ya there is a place around here that dynos wrx's and other subarus by using a custom center differential to make the car's rwd. Its pretty interesting, I might do it. If you want more info their site is:
