Well I finally did it, I hit a cow with my car ;-(
not happy at all.....

mostly cosmetic damage, so far.

got one question tho,

when my light broke, it got smashed in to the engine bay and knocked something out of place and a hose came loose, and i dont know what its for. (shop manual doesnt help)

does anyone know what this is.....

it's right behind the passangers side driving light, (next to the radiator) two hoses come out of the top, and one out of the botom, its a black cylinder. the bottom hose looks like it goes in to the wheel well? and the top two go across the engine?

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS PART?

also knocked a belt off, it looks like it goes around the altinaror, a/c and (c/p?) <-- apprivation from shop manual

93 impreza 1.8l?

well I figured out what it was.....

Jgrahn555...you are right, it is the charcoal canister,

my battery is on the drivers side and the canister is on the other side.....I found a picture of it in the emissons section of my manual....

it doesnt look damaged, so I dont think I need to replace it, I just reconnected to bottom hose.

but I still need a new hood, driving light, belt, maybe fender and windshield (from a toatlly different run in with a rock)

it looks like coolant is leaking from the filler cap area (not the reserve tank) I think my hood hit it when the cow landed on it.
