Take a look at www.cobbtuning.com I think they have some really good stuff. I'm going to go with a full exhaust system with their new equal length header back (when it becomes available). It's costly but replacing three cats with one high flow cat and the free flowing muffler should make for some good power. They also make an outstanding intake system. You can get all this in their stage 2 system for the RS, but I don't care for underdriven pulleys so I'm gonna leave that part out. Turbos can make incredible power for the RS, but will void your warranties. Lastly if you plan on keeping it for a while you may want to switch to synthetic fluids I'm running Mobil 1 in the motor and tomorrow the rest of the drivetrain as well as the P/S will get a Redline oil upgrade. Hope this helps.

Cams basically open your intake and exhaust valves in your engine at the correct time. An intake valve puts a mixture of air and fuel into your combustion chamber(where the piston moves) and then the spark plug makes a spark, then there is an explosion, piston go's back down then comes up again and the exhaust valve opens and the exhaust is pushed out. Except the pistons move from side to side because you have a horizontally opposed engine. You have a SOHC(single over head cam) i think.
