weEe questions about N/A
weEe i r super noobie please help if can
Info about my car:
i drive an AT 2003 2.5 rs its pretty new and i have 200 miles on it so far
Questions:
1. N/A vs Turbo
What are the advantages and disadvanges for both? Will placing a aftermarket turbo on a stock 03 rs harm the engine anyway?
2. Air intakes for N/A
From pevious post long cold air intakes are the best What are some brands you would recommend?
3. Exhaust for N/A
I want an exhaust that increases the engines power not for one that has a good sound. Im trying to look for one that is not too noisy and attract unwanted attention **/me looks at the cops**
4. Are there any other ways to increase the engines power? **something that is legal >_< /me looks at down and up piping**
5. Cams and Pulleys.. what do they do?
hehe yay thats the end of my questions please please help me and try to answer them

Take a look at www.cobbtuning.com I think they have some really good stuff. I'm going to go with a full exhaust system with their new equal length header back (when it becomes available). It's costly but replacing three cats with one high flow cat and the free flowing muffler should make for some good power. They also make an outstanding intake system. You can get all this in their stage 2 system for the RS, but I don't care for underdriven pulleys so I'm gonna leave that part out. Turbos can make incredible power for the RS, but will void your warranties. Lastly if you plan on keeping it for a while you may want to switch to synthetic fluids I'm running Mobil 1 in the motor and tomorrow the rest of the drivetrain as well as the P/S will get a Redline oil upgrade. Hope this helps.

most say not to switch to synthetic until about 10k miles.
your car doesnt have up and downpipes, those are just for turbo motors.
a new cat-back, high flow center cat section, and headers will free up a bit, most of it coming from replacing the two cats right after the header with a single high flow cat(see: random tech).
exhausts are a trade-off between quietness and power, the more power it makes, the louder it usually is. so find a happy medium, listen to a bunch on different headers/center sections before you buy.
dont underdrive on your pulleys, go lightweight.
a turbo will not harm your engine(if properly installed, tuned, and managed), the only damage you will see, if any will be from you being stupid with it. most people who have trouble get "boost hungry" and keep cranking up the boost until they hear the motor go boom.
cobb makes good intakes, pdm i think has a nice one too.

Cams basically open your intake and exhaust valves in your engine at the correct time. An intake valve puts a mixture of air and fuel into your combustion chamber(where the piston moves) and then the spark plug makes a spark, then there is an explosion, piston go's back down then comes up again and the exhaust valve opens and the exhaust is pushed out. Except the pistons move from side to side because you have a horizontally opposed engine. You have a SOHC(single over head cam) i think.
