Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

transmissions

i have a '98 rs. its an auto right now. i wanna swap it to a 5sp. i know all the **** ill need but is there anything like length differences that i might have to wory about in it. or is it a basic put in bleed clutch and put a clutch pedal assembly in and go. also. any advice on want tranny i would want to get? thanks for any help.

its different wiring and ECU as well as other physical parts like different crossmembers, different starter, and other stuff. Although they are on the wrong coast from you, email LIC Motorsports and Noah can give you a list of parts needed

ok. thanks for the help. it might be useful for you to know im at wyotech right now so im not to worried about not knowing how to do the work and the wiring. i know all that. im worried about like tranny lengths and stuff. everything else is just another couple 30 racks away.

the 5 speed is shorter than the automatic, which is part of the reason you need different cross members, but also you will need a longer driveshaft

yeah. that was my worries. we have an import junkyard around here. so i might be able to find one there. i emailed noah. hopefully he'll get back to me so i can get a move on on the project. next after tranny is engine rebuild. then weld in a cage.
