throttle body mod/coolant bypass

has any one done this mod-any noticeable improvements?
also is there a how to shown anywhere,have a phoenix car so im not worried about freezing the throttle body

Sorry I missed this one. Try this thread here. There is a line running hot coolant through the throtle body, and it warms it up enoughj to have a slight effect on the air charge. By unplugging it and 'bypassing' it, you supposedly get a little more knock resistance by having cooler air. I'm going to do this soon, when I get around to it. In a hot climate it is really unlikely to hurt anything, especially where there's no humidity.

Isn't it basically the same thing that RX7 owners had been doing for a while? Probably would really notice the difference during the summer when its already too damn hot out.

Many different cars can do this. I think it started with the 5.0 guys doing it, but it could go back farther than that.

Hmm I remembered my friends who had the old FC RX7s that talked about doing the bypass but I just never bothered to do it in any of my cars. I guess its because I drive my car in winter and where I live it still gets cold enough to snow.
