Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Well, 1st i never seen such a quiet forum.

Anyways, mounts are great. The stock mounts are a POS in comparison with these. Definetly its a great investment, which is not that expensive to do for the car.
Good luck,

well i think the reason it was so queit is because it seems as sort of a before and after kinda thing and everyone was waiting for the after. I am pleased to hear that you like it. I will be doing this sooner then later. But how does it change the car in handling? More controllable, more stable, smooth? Glad you like the mod

Hi, well its more for the engine and tranny this mod. Its pretty amazing the difference of parts from OEM to after market. I will take pictures if I can on the OEM pieces. But this creats more torque. The tranny does not even move now, and the engine, that woble that you have from side to side is gone too.
I feel the car moves much better, its reaction was increased. it seems the car is more HAPPY
Good luck,

Well, I finally have taken pictures of the stock pieces. Most of us have seen the after market mounts around the net.
Here it goes,

Engine Mount Stock

Engine Mount STI

Tranny Mount Stock

Tranny Mount STI

Pitch Stock

Pitch STI Mount

Well there you go, there is a HUGE difference when this was done. Once all the mounts were installed, the car felt different, the clutch response difference too. I am very happy I did this...
Good luck,

how was the install? how long for each mount, and is there anything special we should know that would help the install or is it really straight forward?

Thanks.

Well, the pitch is the most easiest of all. That took about 5min. Then tranny was about 30min....make sure you have a jack for the holding the tranny while you take the mount off.
But now, the engine mounts were the most difficult. That took about 2 hours or so. Make sure you take one mount first, swap them tighten it back on and then you go to change the other. If not you will have the engine move, and it is very difficult to put it back in place.
Make sure you have on of the wrenches with the articulated head, on of the mount, the left one, is very difficult to reach for the bolt.

But all in all, it is well worth doing it. Even my mechanic felt the difference.
Good luck,
