Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

The brospeed/SPT setup is good quality, makes about as much power as any other, but in the end it's still designed to be a quasi-OEM part. That means less noise and less distinction. The price is pretty good for a dealer-only item, but I personally am pro-custom exhaust. If you prefer pre-fab though, then I'm surious about your future plans. Do you think you'll ever get forced induction? Mmmmm, boosted OBS... yum. Anyways, if not, A complete MRT exhaust from the headers back will make about the biggest gains you can get through exhaust, and the Brullen headers in combination with your personal favorite flavor exhaust will also do well, if you replace or fabricate a midpipe and switch to a high-flow cat. If you DO plan on going to forced induction, then I would say to grab Borlas (general consensus around here is that it sounds the nicest, and they're nice and cheap) or wait a little longer for headers and be among the first to try the new TWE equal-length headers that use the stock flanges.

Intakes are good, but they're not crucial. Just removing your snorkus and ensuring you're getting cold air to flow through a high-flow drop in filter will get you most of the way to wehre even a Cobb or Ganzflow will get you.

About the only other significant power gain to be had is cams, but I don't know if there are any for a non-2.5 liter. As it is, an OBS with all of the above will be pretty good.

Man I went rambling on that one...

Oh wow, that rocks. OBSw/EJ25>WRX wagon as far as I'm concerned. I almost wish I'd gotten one instead of my RS. Too late to go back now though.

EDIT: oh, duh, I should have asked... I take it your OBS is '02 or '03?

Because wagons and hatches are cool. If there were a TS when I got mine, thats what I'd have bought. However, I'd have spent the equivalent of a WRX if I'd gotten an '01 OBS and converted it to a TS.

I'll tell ya what...if you all are looking for an absolute killer sound...one that sounds like a V8 down low and graduates to the sound of a WRC car at high RPM get down with a full stainless-steel DTM dual outlet muffler.

I'm tellin' ya all my fellow WRX and RS owner friends in the Chicago/ burb area straight up envy the sound of the DTM muffler i fixed onto my RS...check 'em out...
