speedometer malfunction
I have a 93 Imprezza L. The speedometer fluctuates wildly between 50 and 80 mph. Is the cable itself at fault and if so, could someone briefly tell me what's involved in replacement? I don't have a service manual

Happened to my Accord too - speedo just stopped working. It's probably the cable. One shop said they needed to take apart a lot of stuff to get to it, and it would cost $400. C'ya. Went to an autobody shop and paid $15 for a new cable and free fix.
Is it affecting your odometer? It's probably hard to tell if you're just fluctuating between speeds, but I had to start manually tracking miles for a few months :P
