Hey does anyone have one these carbon fiber hoods? The site I want to get it from says it doesnt need hood pins but should I plan on buying them just in case?

 

wish i had one. I might get the one with the revers hood scoop. You may want to get the hood pins to be on the safe side. Had a dood at work a while back had a CF hood that flew up on him on the highway and busted his windshield, but ive known others that had CF hoods with no pins and be just fine for years. Luck of the draw. As long as you mount it right and make sure it has a good lock when shut, it should be fine. I know siebon doesn't make crappy hoods so the little locking part should be tough.

 

Yeah I think I'm going to buy my hood this weekend. I'm going to have it painted then mounted, if it isn't sturdy then I will buy the pins.

 

Anyone know if they make one as a replacement for ours? (ie no scope)

 

i believe they do. just do a search for 06/07 impreza and not for 2.5i. Check out this place, they have some nice stuff.

I wouldn't want just a plain jane oem CF hood. I want that siebon with the side vents and reverse scoop. I think that sucker would look HOOOTT, but thats me.

agreed, tho I'm trying to stick with a more sleeper look on my, living in the middle of Indiana, you don't get much tuners so i don't want to stick out like a swore thumb to every redneck cop i pass

Same here. As far as I know, I am the only 2.5i in the florida "treasure coast" area. Everything i see is either a wrx or sti.

 

Yeah I live in Mission Viejo CA and I have only seen one other 2.5i. Ha but out here its all about the WRX and STI. Anyhoo I wanted a OEM 06-07 WRX hood but I cant seem to find one out here. The dealer said it would cost a grand just to have a hood with no paint. Thats absolutly rediculous.

 

look in the wrecking yards, there should be a few in Los Angeles, or someone selling thier stockers from swap over to CF hoods

 

you know what, I havent even though about the wreck yards. thats a good idea. I keep checking ebay and the classified ads here. I havent found anything yet though. I think i'm gonna call around.
