removing stock airbox

I heard that removing the stock airbox will make the engine sound louder. Is this true and ok for my car to do it?

if you are talking about the box that contains your air filter then yes it would make the car louder...but you wouldnt have a filter...which is bad...

what you are probably thinking about is the snorkus, if you remove that it will make your car quite a bit louder on heavy acceleration
