Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

wow. thanks man. so basically we cant get the exact subie rumble like the wrx/sti, but to get the similar boxer rumble i need to change the whole exhaust system from headers to custom axleback right? That could cost a lot hehe wont be great f I get a Subaru and not showing off the Subaru boxer rumble from it..might as well just get a honda hehe

Don't need the whole system, just the headers, the rest of the exhaust and intake is up to you and how loud you want it, there is plenty of people running borla reps on factory catbacks, its quite and subtle, but still there. It is really amazing how much noise our exhaust takes out, but then again with 2 resonaters and a muffler at the least, it'd be damn hard to get it loud.
If you get the chance, run your car once with cats only, no catback, then you will appreciate the work the exhaust does. Just be warned, those spring bolt thinggamapieces of crap that they use just after the cats, never really goes on the same, gotta be careful or you'll end up with an exhaust leak, then your car will sound like a sewing machine, lol.

As a side note, if you change out your stock airbox, or the torque box as it is known by peeps who work on them, you will loose a decent chunk of low end torque, but will probably make up for it in hp up top, there are hybrid systems out there that can be used to join up to the torque box, and several people do diy cold air intakes from either of the fender holes, subaru still sells the piece to seal off the front one, so most people do a diy setup running the intake to the second hole, and it works wonders on most cars, pretty much functions as a cool air intake, with the added benefit of being cheaper than a cai or sri and easy to convert back to stock if the need arises, again, rs25 has the write up in n/a power, or in the diy section, not sure which. You use stock airbox, and the stock filter location as well, and just run the pipe to your fender to pull in the cooler air.
