Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Got turn-around in June (Turn-around = Lots of Money) and I'm just looking for my ideas now. plus now the fiancee all of a sudden wants a house so also saving for that. I'll definately post what I've got, when I get it. I'm thinking of Lightened Crankshaft Pulley, Equal Length Headers, Intake, and a Header-Back exhaust.

Which Intake? Weapon R or Injen CAI?

Which Header? Tech Works or (I need 1 more option)?

Any Ideas for a 'high flow' Cat?

Then ideas for a quiet but performing Cat-Back.

They have all hardware ready t ogo just working on EM and ECU maps to run 7psi of boost with an air to water intercooler.

Sorry, not a refinery, a Coal Gasification plant. Basically, looks just like a refinery, but with coal and near-zero emissions. LoL, look at me, being all Green and stuff. I'm Mechanical Maintenance and our state sucks so we only get regular time for the first 40 and x1.5 for the next 20 and then double time on the 7th day or double time for anything over 12 hours in one working day.

Anyway, I'm trying to stay NA but good idea for the supercharger.

hey i have a 06 2.5i impreza wagon. im looking for alittle bit more horsepower. i already have an injen cai, cat-back exhaust, performance plugs and wiring. umm i wanna get the borla headers off boxer4racing but judging by the pictures it has a weird way of connecting to the exhaust. i mean im pretty sure if i get them that i can custom weld them to fit. i also wanted to get a lightweight crank pulley, perrin is selling theirs for 100$. if anybody has any advice let me know thx!!!!!

200 HP at crank is quite easy. Many of us at NASIOC are actually discussing 200WHP. The new delta cams for the 2.5i is already out and tested. It should give 15% HP and TQ gain by itself. That is 20-25HP of mod worth looking into for me. I have an 07.

im back from the dead.

Hey guys, well I have an 06 2.5i auto as well. For my preference, i don't like my car to be loud, but at the same time, i want it to perform better than stock. I currently have a weapon-r short ram intake and a drive by wire - throttle body spacer. I'm not sure how much hp/tq I gained but I know for sure that my car pulls harder in the low rpm ranges. My jackrabbit starts makes my cd's fly out of my tray! no joke. The weaponr intake sounds great too!

But to answer your question, there is a way to get 200chp and its not hard. At rallitek.com, they are selling camshafts and valvesprings exclusively for the 2.5i. They do have an Cobb Accessport ecu for our cars but only for MT. AT will come soon, or so they say. With an intake, exhaust, tbs (optional), cams/springs, lightweight pulley, and proper tuning, you can reach 200hp. Its all availiable for our cars.

Hey guys, I haven't done a damn thing to my car since I bought it, now turn-around went excellent and I had alot of money, but now the wife and I bought a house. Of course she overspent and my project will be put aside until at least next spring when we get our tax return. Then I'll post again with real updates for you guys.

Just bought an 06 2.5i wagon as well and iv been looking at all of these parts but iv been wondering if the wrx parts fit on the 2.5i. Every aftermarket performance part i look at is only for the wrx or sti.

Are the parts interchangeable from the 06 wrx and 06 2.5i?

If your looking for headers to get the subie rumble, pick up the ebay sets. It seems kinda counterintuitave, but the ebay sets tend to have less problems with cracking than the borlas do, and often, you can buy two sets of the ebay uel headers for the price of one borla set. However, that said, not all headers are created equal. A2rinc , and the topspeed headers are the best of the group, and they can be normally had for 180 or 190, as compared to borlas 300 or so. These are for the older ones, my1997 to my2005, but they are dual port, you need to check your motor to see if you have dual port or single port exhaust, and buy accordingly. After MY05 i think, they started integrating the cats into the headers, so i have no advice on that.

Here is an example of a buyers caveat, this guy is selling uel headers for n/a claiming that they fit wrx motors, obviously without the knowledge of where the turbo is, or knowing what uel wrx headers look like. These work for na, the design is clear, but the seller just doesn't get it

dlgonsalves; so to get the signature subie rumble I have to change the headers? Is it possible to just change the exhaust? If not, what else do I need to get and install to my Subaru in order to get the subie rumble. I'm looking for the cheapest options..thanks dude.

Its mostly going to be the headers. They usually come with el or slightly uel headers, so i mean you could even go with a custom axleback, but it probably would still drone out like a honda, i've been searching for exhaust upgrades for my obs since the day i got it, and all of the gc and gf guys will tell you that el headers might get you a little bit of a rumble, but to really bring it out you need uel headers, the exhaust alone wont really cut it. Also remember that we only have sohc, when you listen to a wrx or sti, the combination of uel headers due to the turbo design, and the dohc, make it sound the way it does, there are a few videos of obs's up on youtube with borlas and/or borla reps, so you can get an idea of what a sohc boxer rumble would sound like, for example, this one

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQwnsQ8sF6k

Just dig around for sound clips, but ya, you'll need headers pretty much. I will also steer you over to rs25.com. they are almost the bible for gc and gf mods and work, GC being your chassis design, and GF being the wagons from you generation of cars. Use the search feature (so no one will get grumpy with you) and dig around the site, you'll find lots of resources for your car and motor.
