Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Looking for info on Compressor kit for 2.5 SOHC?

Not really, cause first there's CARB you gotta deal with, then the Feds............ oh wait. Yeah, JDM is much faster.

CARB= California Air Resources Board... they're the **** ******* that make it so we can't use JDM motors here. The Federal emissions standards are slightly more relaxed, but most JDM motors still won't pass. That's why the WRX only makes 227 horsepower here in the states.

Oh, and trust me on this, you'll be welcomed in the Bay Area forum.

ah haha LOL makes sense now... on a turbocharger, there's a compressure housing and a turbine housing. I see why a Supercharger is called a Compressor kit. LOL Not to make fun but it's just odd to hear "compressor kit."

Standard European nomenclature. We're the only ones who call them Superchargers, just like a lot of other things automotive related. Boot= trunk, back box = muffler, etc.

Typically superchargers are not referred to as "compressors" because positive displacement roots superchargers (the type most often utilized in the racing industry) like those made by Eaton and Weiand are simply pumps that force air into the intake manifold. The term "compressor" is reserved for turbos and centrifugal superchargers as these are the only instances where the air is actually compressed within the unit (though arguably the twin screw Lysholm superchargers could be included as well) before it is sent to the engine's intake. Anyway, I am currently working on a one of a kind Whipple supercharger assembly including their cupro-nickel air-to-air intercooler for my Impreza RS...more details to come...but don't hold your breath because monetary issues are holding me back for now...but hopefully sometime in the near future I will have a kit that will vaguely resemble the infamous Rimmer kit, but with none of its vices...

P.S. the term "blower" is usually the preferred vernacular when differentiating between the supercharger and the sub-category known as the turbocharger (exhaust driven supercharger)...

All true... unless you live in Moscow.

I know very little about Moscow from a personal perspective, but I would very much like to experience that world, as I am sure it is very different from my own...

Yes, which is why White Coat should adopt BAIC as his 'home' forum.

By the way I would also like to see SUVs banned. They are gas guzzling dinosauric steamrollers driven by unattentive ignorami constantly chirping on cell-phones...
