Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

A Little Help Is Good...

Hi peeple, im new to this forum... Just wanted to say hi.

Actually, I got some questions I would like to ask. I got a 2002 Subaru Impreza TS Wagon and i was wondering what is the model of the engine. Also, what and where can I get aftermarket parts for it? And what aftermarket parts should I get in the beginning.

For engine/power related parts, look for anything 00-04 RS related. For suspension/handling parts, look for 02-04 WRX Wagon items.

So what are you looking for power, handling, looks, sound?

Power:
I don't have alot of info on the N/A cars from subaru but i know that a chip, intake, and exhaust definitely helps all n/a cars i've ever had 1985 or newer

Handling:
Plenty of things to do. Easily and cheap look for strut braces and sway bars. Also a good set of tires will really help you stick to the ground. Beyound that a full suspension upgrade of shocks and springs but they are much more expensive, so i'm told.

Looks:
I wont comment here becuae everyone is different, but i will add that rims always look nice.

sound:
What can i say other than stereo.

Innexpensive Suspension Options:
2002-2003 WRX sedan rear swaybar (20mm), WRX wagon suspension, 17" wheels w/ some decent tires, scroll through some of those websites to look at other suspension/swaybar, etc. options. Check the suspension forum for more specific options (anything WRX wagon related works for your car)

Power: Intake, catback are a good place to start. Cobb intakes are recommended the most, followed by ganzflow/PDM intakes which utilize the stock airbox. Catbacks, basically use anything that works for a 98-01 RS (but have one of the exhaust hangers moved), or any 02-04 RS catbacks... Headers, borlas are the most popular for the price and sound. Also look at engine pulleys, and lightweight flywheels/clutch sets.
Basically, just look at all the posts in this forum dealing with RS power mods, they apply to your car as well.

I was thinking of something like this for the first step

1) COBB CAI
2) Greddy "Evolution" Catback Exhaust
3) Road Race Rally Spec Strut Bar

Any opinions about my future mods?

Sounds like a good start! Switch the strut bar for a rear swaybar though, cause the swaybar will have far more effect improving handling than the strut bar, and the cost is about the same.

For the sway bar, does it matter if mines a wagon or not???

Actually any rear swaybar from any 93-03 Impreza will fit on any other 93-03 model. So, no it probably doesnt matter

I had a WRX wagon swaybar on my car for awhile, then went with a WRX sedan swaybar. I even have a couple of older RS swaybars, all have the same basic physical dimensions minus the diameter of the bar of course!
