Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

The 2004 are still MAP sensors

I don't know about the 2005 but i doubt they have changed the way the intake is setup yet. If you could take a picture of your intake systemt that would be great.

A maf sensor looks like this (well sorta had to resort to an old turbo'ed model but the mas air flow sensor is clearly visable just before the big cone filter)

A cobb CAI on a 2004 looks like this (no MAF)

2005's are MAF, that is correct. You can see it in this pic: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...44544802TDVxMJ

You will probably have to either modify a cobb intake, or wait for a new redesigned one. Modifying one to fit shouldnt be to hard, you just need to cut a segment out to fit the MAF and probably need a MAF adapter for it as well.

i wonder if the 05 intake manifold flows any better than the current alloy and composites intakes

and where is the coil pack at? or is it now coil on plug?

I'm just glad they are not plastic anymore.

it just looked cheap to me, though I hear it flows better than the metal ones on the previous RS's. Don't think it would hold up to turbo too well though.

Wait, the 05 isnt plastic, it was the 04 that was plastic. This is the 05 Intake manifold, and yes it flows better: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...44545129Fknpbp

the composite manifold should have no problem with the heat of a turbo because if it would melt at 300 degrees F then at 200-220 under hood temps would weaken it to the bending point so the temp it would take to melt it would have to be in the 400s to ensure that there would be no problems later for subaru to have to recall

why do the legacy and impreza manifolds look different?
because it looks like a H4 in both cars but the legacys is much different

The 05 Legacy has some models with the PZEV motor. There are like 3 variants of the N/A 2.5 right now for the 05 model year.

Well the legacy equiped non-PZEV 2.5 with the nice new intake manifold makes a couple more HP than the normal 165, but aparently its because of the Legacy's dual exhaust. The 2005 Forester has the same old 2.5 from before, while there is the PZEV motor in some of the Legacies which makes like only 162hp, and has 3 cats and a very different designed intake manifold.
