Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

i have a dream and i have alot of parts

The only thing i know is that the stock motor mounts on your legacy should fit the 2.5l engine. Since all ej series are interchangable spacing and mounting wise.

The 98 outback already has the 2.5. You dont need to do a motor swap. The intake manifold wont bolt on either, and the throttle body is not larger. The power numbers are roughly identicle, the 98 is actually a DOHC motor as opposed to the 99 with a SOHC. Both have their positives and negatives. The tranny is basically the same too.

The suspension you could use. The exhaust you can use, perhaps with modifying a hangar or two but otherwise will work. The bumpers you can not use.

another thing... if you wanted to put impreza bumpers on a legacy body, that won't work- the legacy is slightly wider. I'm not sure if you were planning this- you mentioned bumpers, though... just a heads up

If he's got the dohc why not get a e257 turbo short block and put the heads on and have a real beast
