How bad am I hurting my car?

Ok so I joke around alot like today I was in a parking lot and a friend was sitting there with no one around, so I did a few donuts around him lol. I am wondering though is this seriously hurting anything other than my tires.

I mean stuff like that is fun, but I dont want it to kill my car.

I dont attempt to burn out and etc because I like the way my tranny is now plus its awd which isnt happening lol.

So any info on how bad it is for my car just pushing it hard it 1st dear and sliding some?

Wow . . . donuts in an AWD? I haven't tried that yet . . .

Probably hurting your suspension and tires and your tranny and your clutch.
But it also depends, are you sliding on dry pavement, wet pavement, or snow?

It was nighttime in a best buy parking lot. Its not hard to do lol, just put it in first and turn the wheel. It makes a real nice circle when your sliding. But if you let the wheels catch it jumps real quick becasue of the awd.

probably putting some strain on the center differential also. Any "hard" driving is hard on parts. Don't worry too much. I took mine drag racing the first week I got it. It's still running great...

I was watching a DVD on drifting and they said that kinda driving does wear on the defferntial, But the where talking about alot of hours to 'cause any real damage. So I imagine a few donuts in a parking lot isn't going to excelarate wear much at all.

Oh well, I did it again tonight, only tonight it was around a pizza hut lol.

I made one full drift around it, then I lost control in a gravel build up on the pavement.

Lol so much for my winter tread.

Lol its not hard... just pound the hell out of the gas in second gear and then spin the wheel quickly. Then are you loose traction, start counterstearing so you dont wreck.

Once I hit the gravel though, I lost control. Thats got to be tough rally racing.

Man, you guys are idiots. Risking all three differentials isn't enough, then you lose it in some gravel and chip your paint!

Actually, the most likely thing to fail is your power steering pump; THEN your differentials, rear one first.

I hardly doubt a few donuts are going to ruin a diff...

where did he ever say anything about LSD? all he said was that you are risking the differentials failing. fact is, any kind of hard driving is going to put a lot of stress on a cars suspension and engine. plus if you wanted to do donuts do buy a RWD car. our cars arent made to go and showoff for your friends in parking lots.

I dont know how much it is hurting the center diff, but definitely the front and rear diffs as those are the ones used in turning more. Ive also heard mention of having to say bye bye to your cv joints from extended donuts

by the way, if loss of traction is what youre into, seriously look into doing rally-x

meilers brings up a good point too. While it does put a lot of stress on parts like the diffs, few donuts is not going to do damage. Maybe going through two tanks of gas straight by doing donuts constantly would be a different story
