Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

holy low idle batman!

ive got a problem that could become very bad very quick...well...ive had a stupid check engine light on for months because of a bad speed sensor, and i hear when a CEL is thrown the engine, in addition to limiting the revs, also runs a bit rich... so recently my idle has been steadily decreasing week by week...its down almost lower than the tach can read and i think if it keeps lowering at the current rate it wont idle at all in another couple weeks...

my big question is, since the engine has been running rich for so long, is it likely that the O2 sensor is ****ting the bed? im pretty sure it may be either the MAP or MAF sensor or the O2 sensor because what else could cause a steady decrease in idle? nothing else seems to be affected, it runs just fine when im on the gas, no smoke or anything, no noticeable horsepower loss

by the way the car is a 1998 impreza L, any IMMEDIATE help will be much appriciated, i dont want to lose my baby!
