Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

I have a Borla header, Random Tech highflow cat, Apexi mid pipe, and a Blitz Nur spec axleback. Sounds rediculously good, and once I put on the cat I noticed a definate gain, more on higher end though like 3rd gear on. But I'm on Blizzak Ws-50's and can't really go above 90 so I only stay at like 80 mph when I get up there. We'll find out what it can do when I put my So3's back on. But I definatly noticed a good gain.

Answer: It doesnt, Gearing plays no role in how your engine performs, just the speed/power ratio put to the road.

Sorry, but as stated your response makes no sense, can you please clarrify your response. or retract it? I dont mean to start a flame war or even insult u but I am greatly confused and confronted by your answer...
Oh man....watch out a newb thinks he knows everything. Stop trying to play toughass it won't get you verry far. I guess for those who feel the need to have everything spelled out for them specifically because they can't figure out stuff for themselfs. And technically yes, it really does have something to do with gearing. Now I'm gonna explain this to you and hopefully you'll understand because you seem a little slow. Ok, on a naturally asperated car basically the larger diameter exhaust you put on your car the more power you will get more top end power and lose some bottom end and obviously you will burn a little more gas. So technically yes you could say something like, I noticed a gain up high and lost low end power. The reason I put gearing in there is so the smarter people read it and say "hey it seems when your going faster you notice more of a difference. And no not to confuse you I don't have a 3" exhaust on my car. And yes, when I put the cat on I could feel more of the power up high.
Since you verry new here I suggest you try to understand peoples posts better and learn how to read instead of making yourself sound like you know everything.

Proud of status?? I'm still a newb too. I just didn't register a few days ago and come on here trying to prove something to the world. And no I don't think I know it all either I know there is plenty of stuff I don't know about but I have the full exhaust and I know where I feel the difference in my car from when I didn't have it on. And no I never insinuated that the highflow cat changed my gearing, you just assumed that. I was just saying from 3rd gear on I noticed a difference in power. So for those who can't figure out the mph in third gear is it starts around 45 mph. Sorry for the confusion to those who can't figure it out.

I'm not getting the whole original information thing. If you think I actually learned that from what people say on here then you are wrong. Actually one of my friends owns an exhaust shop and has been doing exhausts for over 35 years. And that's where I learned that about 3 years ago. So I'm guessing that everything you have learned you have done a trial and error thing? You have put every size pipe on your car and have done an experiment? Or did you actually lear it from someone. It's actually like that for everything. Everyone is constantly learning but I guess you are special and everything you know is original and no one has taught you anything?
Last, I don't care who you are, you could be Richard Burns for all I care. I barely come on here too, just I checked it out and saw something I could help someone out on and gave him my opinion. I just didn't say, hey...why don't you get some original knowlage and test differnt brands. He asked a question, I gave him my answer, you came on here trying to prove you think you know it all and I guess you enjoy trying to make people feel dumb when you are the one who couldn't understand what I said. Well I'm sorry I didn't make it clear enough for you to understand. Guess I should of put the mph I could actually feel a good difference to avoid the people who can't figure stuff out for themselfs.

Yes it is carb legal and is 50 state legal. I ordered mine right from Random Tech. You can find it cheaper other places but I feel more comfortable paying the extra money and buying it from a bigger more reputable place. Plus you can double check and make sure it's legal.
