help with resonator please
I need help picking a resonator. I don't want my car too loud until WOT. Will a resonator help me?
Will it counter the performance gains of my CAI, EQ Headers amd High Flow Cat?
I was looking at the part below. I think it serves the same purpose.

thats not a resonator. its a muffler. goto a local muffler shop and ask them to put one in. a 12" should be apporopriate. cost you around $80. and no it wont cost you any performance.

I've been to quite a few muffler shops around here and Mandrel Bend Pipes seems to not exsist.
I thinking that the small performance gains that I get from my new header/cat might be lost by 1) air flow restriction that might be caused by a resonator and/or 2) the damn kinks in pre-bent pipes that all these muffler shops have.
I looking for a 2.5" mandrel bend mid pipe (w/wo resonator) that can match up with a 2.5" High Flow Cat outlet and a 2.5" Muffler inlet. Does one exsist somewhere, waiting to be sold? Only Boxer4racing.com has one in 2.25". Not what I want.

this one is for 02-03
and that is the same one for 04-05... hope this helps... sure looks like the price is right.
this with a good muffler should be quiet enough for you.

crush bent pipes REALLY arent that bad. and 2.5" is slightly large anyway. 2.25 is supposdely "optimal" so theres not much to worry about man.

I've got a 30" (not a typo) resonator on my exhaust, and I was thinking it may be restricting somewhat. When I give it good gas then let up (even slowly), it kinda hesitates as if the air was getting backed up and wasn't being pushed through anymore... This may have to do with my tranny (auto) or something else (clogged cat?), though, but it definitely quiets and smooths out the sound - I think I want to replace the cat section before I move to a smaller resonator. I think it will sound smooth and loud once I get the cat section done.

With my set up, I have 2.5" piping from the header outlet all the way to the muffler. I like the feel, not the loud sound. Not sure about the loss of low end power. Maybe the smoother shifts (not as jerky when quick with the clutch) is the lack of low end, but I like it. Feels like there's a lot less drivetrain shock when shifting.
But I think it's a little faster like it's suppose to be. But then again, it could the placebo effect.

I realy hope this kills the rasp. Im a bit dissapointed because I have not noticed any improvement with any exhaust stuff other than the power band feels less chopy... like the lower end is smoother or something.

I like it loud at WOT. Not at 2000-3000 RPMs
