Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Does a Wideband O2 replace the sensor in the cat?

Does a Wideband O2 replace the sensor in the cat?

Or will I have to tap a new hole for it to exist? If it replaces the OE O2 sensor, how will the ECU know how to use the information it sends? All I want to do it monitor my AFR and/or tune it. I also have a ScangaugeII, can I use that to collect said information?

Thanks

Paul

Paul, I just had a quick look at the scangauge2, it looks like it can only show you if the car is running in closed or open loop. Most probably from the info gained from the O2 sensor. Can't see it actually showing you the O2 voltage.

I've got a '95 1.8L, and on that the O2 sensor that sets the air/fuel ratio is a narrow band which is probably what you have too. So if you plan on getting an a/f ratio gauge you'll need to weld up a wideband sensor next to the OE one as teh narrow band won't give you any usable info.

No need for one really if you're not running a turbo, and if you're tuning you'd be better off sticking an exhaust gas analyser up the exhaust while the car is on the dyno.

when running a wideband o2 there's usually another bung for it in the downpipe, I don't know about n/a cars though
