Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

custom intake

here's a pic of my semi-custom intake that began as an akimoto short ram intake and with a $20 investment probably matches cobbs performance gains....muahahahah in the old days there were no name brand intakes...all that stuff was custom!!!

Nice work, I'm planning a similar project this summer. Did you encounter any problems. I have a rallitek intake that I'm planning on plumbing well in to the front fender and possibly the front bumper, I'd really like to get some nice fresh air for my engine.

No real problems. I did have to fumble around with the tubing to make sure the right bends were made so that it didn't hit the fuel line. It's pretty secure otherwise....i'm thinking about getting a short pipe that goes farther into the fender well but i'm pretty happy with it thus far. Only spent 20 bucks at home depot...make sure you take measurements and know what kind of bends you have to make before buying anything.

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, it's definitely better than it was when you took it out of the box. Nice job.

how difficult would it be to do some sort of pipe or hose to the lower front bumper?

Not hard, but extra gains would be minimal. Putting it in the fender works just as well.

I'd just go with whatever is cheapest and easiest to obtain, and for you to work with.
